The Undressing

Notes Along the Way — the honest writing that happens while the book is being written.

The Book

The Undressing

Life in Christ

We spend so much of our lives in layers — performing, protecting, presenting a version of ourselves that is easier to manage than the real one. The Undressing is about what happens when God begins to remove those layers.

Not all at once. Not without tenderness. But fully — until what remains is a person who is wholly known and, because of that, finally free. The path toward that is always a taking off of who we once were, as we put on Christ in its place.

We were not made to hide. We were made to flourish whole — fully known, and never alone.

Why I Write

I write because the spiritual life is not as tidy as most of us were taught. There is grief in it, and wrestling, and long stretches where God feels further than He is. I write into those stretches — not to resolve them too quickly, but to sit in them honestly and see what's there.

The conviction underneath all of it is this: God designed us to live fully known. Not just known in some general, theological sense — but personally, specifically, completely known. By Him. And eventually, by the people He places around us.

That kind of knowing requires an undressing. It requires setting down the layers. That's what I'm writing toward.
